Other Art
A little of this, and a little of that. This category has "Wee Planets," using a technique I learned for converting flat 360 degree panoramas into works of art, as well as necklaces and jewelry, and any other creative endeavors I may undertake.

This is based upon a panorama photograph of the Tongariro Volcanoes by Ralph and Susan Bussard. I have transformed it to a lovely little world with via polar coordinates.
This composite shows my mini-world along with the <a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/steffe/176605134/' target='_blank'>original 360 panorama</a>.<br><br>

This is based upon a hilly panorama of a local golf course. The hills contribute to the lumpy planet shape. =)
Tina taught me how to solder today, and I made these lovely charms. I also learned (the hard way) never to touch the hot part of the soldering iron. ;)
The reverse side of the charms.
Now I need to buy all of the tools so I can make more of these!
Charms are 1 inch wide x 2 inches high. I made these using my new glass cutting and soldering tools. The images are vintage photographs and paintings, with dictionary definitions overlayed.<br /><br />

Top row: 'serenity', 'dawn', and 'vixen.'<br />
Bottom row: 'self-assurance', 'confidant', and 'wisdom'.
Every necklace is really two-in-one, as each side are different. <br /><br />

On the far right of the top row is my experiment with cutting the copper tape to a scalloped edge.<br /><br />

Top row: 'serenity', 'dawn', and 'vixen.'<br />
Bottom row: 'self-assurance', 'confidant', and 'wisdom'.
Based on a 360 degree panorama photograph of a rural Bryan, Texas scene taken in 2007. This 'Wee Planet' was donated to a silent auction for a dear friend, <a href='http://tina-wright.blogspot.com'>Tina Wright</a>, who was diagnosed with stage four cancer.

One of my favorites!
This planet looks so serene on this crisp winter's day...
